Bendy and the Dark Revival: Chapter 5

Shipahoy Dudley is a cartoon character created by Wilson Arch in Bendy and the Dark Revival.

General Description[]

Physical Appearance[]

Shipahoy Dudley has blond hair, a white sailor hat with a blue X and red trim, white fingerless gloves that only show the tips, a blue shirt with striped sleeves, white overalls with striped legs, and black shoes. He appears youthful, cheerful, and is drawn in a bashful pose.

He is accompanied by Crackle the Crab, a blue-and-yellow crab wearing a red bowtie. He also has orange legs and freckles.

Personality[]

Shipahoy Dudley's depiction imply that his demeanor would be similar to that of Joey Drew Studios' Bendy, looking friendly, diffident, and bright-spirited.

In-Game Appearances[]

In Chapter 1, a conceptual doodle of a different version of Shipahoy Dudley can be found in Archgate Films, in one of the offices.

He is properly introduced in Chapter 5 at Wilson's Laboratory, as a painting on an easel within Wilson's machine. Only this time he has a much more lively design and is mostly colored. He even is accompanied by his companion Crackle the Crab. Wilson plans to use Audrey Drew and the painting of his character for the Ink Machine to create a powerful form and overthrow the Ink Demon, although Wilson ends up as the formula of his own creation, resulting in generating a monstrous malformed version of Shipahoy Dudley.

Trivia[]

  • Considering his childish appearance, blond curly hair, and red, white and blue attire, he could be inspired by the titular character from Cartoon Network series The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. He can also be based on characters like Popeye and Donald Duck.
  • The name of his crab companion, Crackle the Crab, was revealed in Bendy and the Dark Revival: The Archives, and is also referred as Dudley's "sidekick".
  • Some early concept art indicates he was originally going to be a, thing, known simply as "Little Buddy".
    • This is supported by the fact that unlike most characters, this one is colored.
