Eckhart was a resident of Queens, New York who served in World War I as a Private in the United States Signal Corps, and one of Joey Drew’s old squadmates in The Illusion of Living.

Eckhart was described as having something of a sense of humor, as well as a fascination for such technologies as the telegraph and the radio. Eckhart was very close with Donaldson, and later Joey, and they often did things together. He is described as being supportive of Donaldson in his schemes.
History[]
Joey Drew met Eckhart, along with fellow soldier Donaldson during World War I, after Eckhart and Donaldson has signed up together.
At a dance club in 1917, Eckhart came to the dance with his date, Tilly. After the dance, both he and Donaldson were killed in action, as described by Joey.
