Critters

A bunch of critters grouped around Boris and Alice in On Cloud 9

Critters are a group of background characters that appeared recurringly throughout the Bendy comics strips.

While most of them are anonymous, Bubbles (the fish) and Carmacks (the reindeer) are the only critters given with official names.

Physical Appearance

The critter species' in the comics include: cats, pigs, birds, rabbits, frogs, mice, bats, shrews, sharks, seagulls, bees, pigeons, fish, and horses.

Comic Appearances

Syndicated Comics (1932-1935)

• Cats and Dogs (1932) - A black cat appears and fights over a fishbone with Boris, and ends up winning.
• Pig Sty (1933) - Bendy ends up falling to the mud pen with pigs.
• Ode to Reuben (1933) - An alarmed bird was used as a part of Ruby Goldberg's Rube Goldberg-styled booby trap.
• On Cloud 9 (1933) - A rabbit, a frog, two mice, and two bats are seen joining in on Alice and Boris' performance and start dancing along to the music.
• Mice Try (1933) - A shrew is seen from the community theater's Taming of the Shrew poster.

Dime Store Comics (1936-1940)

• To the Moon (1936) - Sharks (although their fins are only seen on-screen) and seagulls appeared around the harbor areas. Furthermore, at the moon, the angry bees are accidentally summoned by Bendy's bouquet to attack the Moon Vulture officer.
• Yukon Bendy - The bats are seen fluttering around Bendy and Boris while exiting out of the Sasquatch's mountain.

Promotional Comics (1941-1946)

• Construction Corruption - Bendy made a little birdhouse for three pigeons, much to Charley's impatience.
• Showbiz Bendy - Bendy pulls out a crocodile from his hat during a hat-trick magic talent.
• All Washed Up - Boris and Alice angered two fish for breaking the rule sign that warns not to go fishing.
• Giddyup, Bendy! - Bendy and Boris ride on their own horses just as they arrived to the western town.
